Very solid and crisp cucumbers – excellent for slicing, or, picked smaller for pickling. Produces 10-12″ long cucumbers. This is an heirloom variety said to have been introduced in 1870. Start indoors 3-4 weeks before last frost. Transplant after risk of frost. Plants seeds 1/2-1″ deep, 12-24″ apart. Heirloom cucumbers dislike acidic and dry soil. Days to maturity: 60. (30 seeds/pkg)
